Heartburn

Heartburn, or acid indigestion, may be a manifestation of gastroesophageal reflux disease, which is an uncomfortable regurgitation of the acidic contents of the stomach. The lower esophageal sphincter muscle acts as a valve which permits food to enter the stomach, and prevents the stomach's contents from flowing back up. If this sphincter has been weakened, for example by hiatal hernia, it may allow the stomach's acidic contents to seep back up into the esophagus causing discomfort in the chest area.

The pain from Heartburn may be mistaken for the pain associated with angina or even heart attack. The pain associated with heart problems, however, can usually be distinguished because it will tend to become more severe with physical exertion. Rest, on the other hand, will tend to relieve the pain. Gastroesophageal Heartburn, by contrast to heart disease, will remain constant regardless of whether a person is resting or physically active.

Mild or occasional Heartburn can often be remedied by sensible changes in diet and lifestyle, for example by eating smaller meals, eating slowly and chewing food thoroughly, staying away from alcohol and coffee, avoiding fried, spicy or acidic foods, not lying down after eating and reducing stress levels.

Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology: Instant Relief in a Natural way.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who brought the Transcendental Meditation® technique to the world 42 years ago, has revived and systematized Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology. The word "Vedic" means pertaining to Veda, the field of pure knowledge or total knowledge of Natural law.

For thousands of years, Veda and the Vedic Literature have been held to be the expression of the Total Knowledge of Natural Law. According to tradition, the Vedic sounds contained in Veda are the fundamental vibrations which structure the material universe, including the human body. Through a tender impulse of Vedic vibration, pain can be transformed into a feeling of pleasantness and abnormality can be transformed into normal physiological functioning.
